First Year at School

This is my first year at Paloma school. The first term of this year was awesome. The students here at the school are nice to me and so are the teachers. The first weeks of school were a little hard for me because I didn’t know anybody there until I started making friends. Paloma is a great school to go to because you are not always doing  boring subjects like math, language, and biology. Instead of doing just boring subjects like that, I also get to do art, music, and also do book café. Book café is where you read a certain book from different time periods in one month. After the month is over, my class will sit around a table and tell each other about the book they read while we drink tea and eat cookies. Sometimes my class is lucky enough to go to a café.

My class goes on a lot of field trips too. For example, my first field trip was to a place called A.C.T. or Advanced Cooling Technology. A.C.T. is a place where they create cooling systems for air conditioners, satellites, and wind turbines. Filed trips normally start after lunch. My second field trip was to a place called UNTO Ministry. UNTO Ministry is a place where people can come in and help pack shoes, clothing, and food to send across the world to different countries in need. When I went there, my class and I were packing shoes to go to Venezuela.

The school has made the classrooms so they are detailed and vibrant and not plain and boring like other school classrooms. Paloma does something that I have never seen before. It’s called closing circle. It is where all the students gather right before school ends and sit down in rows of chairs, waiting for a teacher to walk up to the front and talk about our day and about upcoming events. Paloma is the best school to go to if you are shy like me. Honestly the first term of this year was great.
